Our Federation is bound, sustained and united not by examples of our power; but by the power of our example.

- T’Pau of Vulcan

Welcome to the 25th century.

The Former Romulan Empire is slowly collapsing. Beyond the frayed borders of the loosely united Romulan Free State, slavers, merchants and raiders chew at the edges of the once-great Empire. Rump states and Warlords fight for the limited resources that remain.

The USS Hercules is undergoing refit following the death of her Captain. His mission had been negotiations with the Consular House of Ir-Tassi, masters of the Urva’Ntaan Subsector - known to Starfleet as the Romulan Aventine.

Shortly before the death of both Consul and Captain in an attack, accord had been achieved; the 80-odd star systems of Urva’Ntaan would secede to the Federation after the 12-month grace period mandated by Romulan law.

The Hercules is now called back by the new Consul of the Romulan Aventine, the only Federation vessel permitted in the region until the period expires, and the Aventine becomes Federation space.

The USS Hercules and her crew will explore the largely uncharted region, defend it's people from predations and seek to learn all they can about a vast region of potential new member worlds.

The USS Hercules is a play-by-nova simulation. If you’d like to know more, come talk to us on Discord, or have a look here.

The burly Deltan’s grip finally overcame and dislocated the tension in the Captain’s muscles, she let out a noise that was as much pain as it was satisfaction as he drove the point of his elbow into her shoulder blade. Drusilla turned her head and let out a contented sigh…

Sickbay was empty, but lit. Rovak moved to get a better view of the Chief Medical Officer’s desk, nobody was there.

The sands of Vulcan sing through the night, Rovak would insist to anyone who had stumbled across him.

He had not eaten in days, he had not tasted water for at least a week. This was his penance, this was his cause. The sands would purify him.

Had he been…
